Gianluca Spina Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation - special mention
The Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG) and the Gianluca Spina Association are announcing an award for excellence and innovation in teaching in memory of Gianluca Spina, Professor at the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, and past AiIG President, who died prematurely.
The objective of the award is to emphasize the importance and centrality of teaching activities and to promote commitment and dedication to education as the primary task of the Management Engineering community. The award is aimed at teaching initiatives that show traits of excellence and innovation, capable of capturing emerging trends in society, in young people, in learning processes, often a consequence of the pervasiveness of technologies, in all living and educational contexts.
Individuals or groups of individuals who have developed innovative and excellent initiatives in the field of teaching and training in management engineering or management training will be eligible for the award. Participation is limited to individuals with less than 15 years since obtaining a PhD; in the case of groups, it is required that the person in charge or the member(s) who carried out the preponderant activity in the design and implementation of the project have been awarded a PhD for less than 15 years.
Such initiatives may include, but are not limited to:
– Teaching materials (e.g., case studies with teaching notes, textbooks, simulations, serious games, software, supporting teaching materials)
– Teaching methodologies (e.g. teaching labs, project work, flipped classroom, …)
– Moocs or other educational products based on e-learning
– Innovative educational products in teaching format or content design (Courses, Masters, Executive Training, Didactics Training, …)
– Learning assessment methods
– Studies and research on the learning patterns of Millennials and generations to come, including operational guidance on how to modify teaching approaches
– Studies and research analyzing the skills needed by managers of the future and providing guidance on the changes needed in the educational content of management and management engineering courses
– Educational initiatives aimed at the dissemination of managerial culture characterized by particular relevance and social impact (e.g., initiatives attributable to the university’s third mission, educational activities for developing countries, ….)
