October 8th - 19th: Lectures on Wireless Sensor Networks and Future Internet Technologies
Dates: October 8th to October 19th, 2012
Where: Room B203 at DIIAG
Lectures on:
Wireless Sensor Networks
From 9:30 to 11:00
Lecturer: prof. Stefan Fischer univ. of Lubeck
Contents of the teaching programme: In this course, both the basic aspects of wireless sensor networks and some advanced topics are presented. We cover the design of hardware, operating systems and communication protocols as well as essential services such as time synchronization, localization, and sensor calibration, which form the basis for the collection, processing and interpretation of sensor data. The course also addresses the programming necessary for practical use and application.
Future Internet Technologies
From 11:30 to 13:00
Lecturer: prof. Dennis Pfisterer univ of Lubeck
Content of the teaching programme: This course first outlines the basic design principles of the Internet and the problems related to them. It then gives a broad introduction into current approaches on how the Internet can be improved, either by evolutionary or by disruptive approaches. Topics covered will be IPv6 and 6LowPAN, Internet of Things, and Delay-Tolerant Networking.
NOTE: Only for the date of October 16th, 2012 the lectures will be in the afternoon from 14:30 to 18:00 in room B203
